Video: Tri-services tableau feature at Republic Day parade in a historic first

For the first time, a tri-service tableau participated in the Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path on Sunday. The tableau, themed “Shashakt aur Surakshit Bharat,” highlighted jointness and integration in the armed forces, with a focus on national security and operational coordination.

Indian Air Force helicopters flew over the parade route, carrying the national flags of India and Indonesia.

The tableau presented a battlefield scenario featuring synchronised operations across land, water, and air. Indigenous platforms such as the Arjun Main Battle Tank, Tejas MKII fighter aircraft, Advanced Light Helicopter, destroyer INS Visakhapatnam, and a Remotely Piloted Aircraft were displayed, reflecting coordination in multi-domain operations.

The Indian Army showcased tanks equipped with 125 mm smoothbore guns, 7.62 mm machine guns, and 12.7 mm anti-aircraft guns.

The Pralay weapon system, a surface-to-surface tactical missile with a range of 400 km, was also featured. The system is designed to target a variety of battlefield threats, enhancing India’s defence capabilities.

The Indian Air Force’s band, a formation of three MiG-29 aircraft, and its marching contingent also participated in the parade, adding to the display of military strength and coordination.

The Naval Marching Contingent also participated in the parade at Kartavya Path. Lt Commander Sagar Ahluwalia led the contingent.
