Marks and Spencer’s shoppers are full of praise for a new quilted jacket they say is ‘versatile’. The Thermowarmth Quilted Jacket costs £35 and is available in three stylish colours; sage, black and beige.

The jacket comes in sizes six to 24 and is designed in a regular fit. It is perfect for transitioning from winter into spring, as although it is a lightweight garment, it features ‘innovative’ M&S Thermowarmth technology, which means the padding keeps you extra warm.

You do not have to worry about being caught in a downpour while wearing the garment, as it has Stormwear water-repellent technology to protect you from light showers. The jacket can be worn on its own in warmer months, or layered under a thicker coat when it is chilly.

The gorgeous quilted jacket has a flattering baseball-style ribbed neckline for a casual feel, while its side pockets allow you to keep your essentials close by. The garment is part of the M&S Collection; a variety of easy-to-wear wardrobe staples that combine classic and contemporary styles.

The Thermowarmth Quilted Jacket boasts an overall rating of five stars on the Marks and Spencer website. One delighted buyer said: “Lovely warm and versatile jacket. I was delighted with the quality and fit of this jacket on receiving it. It really is excellent value for money. The material, quality and fit are spot on and I have worn it with various different outfits for a different look so far.

“I chose to size up as I wanted to wear other items underneath it, however it is still fairly fitted and as an older and taller lady I prefer to size up with a more casual shorter jacket like this. It would go really well with wide legged jeans, and unlike a lot of other quilted jackets, it does not add bulk to the shoulders or the rest of the body. I chose the beige which is lovely.”

A second commented: “I love this jacket. It fits well and is great indoors or as an extra layer outdoors, as it is thin enough to go under a coat for extra warmth. There are two large inner pockets (the jacket has four pockets in total) that are big enough to fit an A5 notebook. I find it very useful to carry my mobile, keys or other extra bits.”

Another satisfied shopper says: “This is a very lightweight jacket which will be perfect for spring and summer. The beige colour is really versatile and looks good. A very modern shape which looks great with jeans and trousers. Slightly larger fit, I am 10 or 12 in tops and the 10 is plenty big enough even with a light jumper underneath.”

However, they did go on to note a slight downside: “My only criticism is that the sleeves are a bit long.” Someone else awarded the jacket five stars but also had an issue with the sleeves, as they added: “The sleeves seem to be really wide, would best suit someone with fuller arms.”

You can buy the M&S Thermowarmth Quilted Jacket for £35 here. Nobody’s Child is currently offering a similar Black Quilted Bomber Jacket on sale for £44, down from £99. It is designed in a relaxed fit and has a cute button front.

River Island has a Reversible Quilted Jacket priced at £49. It features a stylish stripe pattern on one side, and a pretty floral design on the other.
