A horrible night for Richmond on the scoreboard was made extremely worse, as small forward Maurice Rioli went down with a horrific ankle injury after Sam Banks’ terrifying concussion and Jack Graham’s hamstring injury.
The Tigers were left with just one man on the bench in the final minutes of the last quarter, summing up a miserable night at the MCG, going down to the Western Bulldogs by 91 points.
In an innocuous chase-down tackle from Bulldog Adam Treloar on the boundary line, Rioli’s right foot accidentally got caught under his opponent’s leg.

Treloar’s body weight naturally fell on top of Rioli, as his foot was twisted backwards underneath his body.
Rioli was seen screaming on the turf in agony, unable to move his leg at all.
Richmond doctors rushed to his aid, calling for the stretcher as the 21-year-old lay in pain.
The injury was the final nail in the coffin for the Tigers, who suffered their eighth loss of the season.
It was Richmond’s 11th loss by six or more goals in their past 18 games, as their injury list continues to grow.
Rioli’s injury wasn’t the first of the night, with Banks’ concussion headlining the evening.
The incident happened right in front of Richmond’s bench, with English pushed under the ball by Tiger Noah Balta into Banks as he was running back with the flight of Jack Macrae’s kick up the line.
English then accidentally flipped Banks mid-air, with the Tigers winger somersaulting and landing directly on his head, knocked out by the impact.
Veteran Tiger Jack Graham was also subbed out with a hamstring injury in the third quarter.
The Tigers sit in 17th on the ladder, as they look ahead to their clash against Brisbane in round 10.
