After making us wait to the very last day of the month, Sony has finally unveiled the PS Plus games for August 2024. The next wave of free PS4 and PS5 games will be available to download from August 6 until September 3. Replacing the current line-up headlined by Borderlands 3, the August games include the excellent LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, as well as Five Nights at Freddy’s Security Breach and Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights. It’s not the best PlayStation Plus line-up, although LEGO Star Wars is a great game to play solo or with family and friends.
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga takes players through the entire mainline series of films, from Phantom Menace to The Rise of Skywalker.
Needless to say, it features all the humour fans have come to expect from the LEGO games, not to mention hundreds of characters and unlockables.
Sony explains more: “Play through all nine Star Wars saga films in a brand-new LEGO video game unlike any other.
“Experience fun-filled adventures, whimsical humour, and the freedom to fully immerse yourself in the LEGO Star Wars galaxy.
“Want to play as a Jedi? A Sith? Rebel, bounty hunter, or droid? LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga features hundreds of playable characters from throughout the galaxy.”
Taking place in a shopping mall, Five Nights at Freddy’s Security Breach is the ninth mainline entry in the series.
The game utilises a more open-ended structure, letting players explore the area while avoiding various threats.
Finally, Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights is described as a 2D action RPG with stylish art direction.
“Journey through the sprawling and hauntingly beautiful Land’s End, traversing a submerged forest, a sealed-off contaminated underground cavern, and a grand castle,” Sony explains.
“Formidable bosses await that will gladly claim your life given even the slightest chance.
“Defeat these powerful foes and release them from their unending curse to recruit them as allies. Overcome the challenges before you and search for the truth with powerful knights at your side.”
As a reminder, the games will be available until September 3, when they’ll be replaced by games such as Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions.
The Harry Potter game features a single-player campaign, as well as co-operative and competitive online multiplayer.
