As per the woman’s allegations, Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna raped her mother four to five years back at his Bengaluru residence
Amid the ongoing probe in connection to the sex tape controversy in Karnataka, a woman has come forward with allegations against suspended JD(S) leader Prajwal Revanna and his father HD Revanna, accusing them of sexual assault and harassment.
Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna raped her mother four to five years back at his Bengaluru residence, the woman alleged. It was further reported she had provided the Special Investigation Team (SIT) with detailed testimony outlining the incidents, India Today reported.
She further alleged that she was forced to remove her clothes during video calls back in 2020 and 2021 as Prajwal threatened her. “He (Prajwal) used to call me and ask me to remove my clothes. He would call on my mother’s mobile and force me to answer the video calls. When I refused, he threatened to harm me and my mother,” she said was quoted as saying by India Today.
“Our family supported us when they learned about the incidents and then we filed a complaint,” the woman added.
The woman accused Prajwal and HD Revanna of raping and sexually harassing her mother. She stated that the Hassan MP used to threaten her mother of snatching my father’s job and raping me. She further informed that her father was sacked from his job after they filed a complaint in the matter.
The woman added that the JD(S) leader also harassed female servants working at his residence.
Claiming that several women were sexually harassed by Prajwal, she stated that only three people so far have come out and spoken about the harassment in public. The woman also claimed that her family were forced to sell their land after two years after the incident.
“She (my mother) used to come home only once in four to five months. She was harassed so much that she would only call us late at night, at around 1 or 2 am. She hardly used to talk to us. They treated my mother like a slave and assaulted my father,” the woman alleged.
Prajwal Revanna Accused of Sexual Harrasement
Prajwal Revanna, the 33-year-old JD(S) MP, and his father are accused of sexually abusing several women and taping them. Soon after the video tapes went viral, a huge political storm erupted in the state of Karnataka, leading the Congress-led government to initiate a SIT probe against the MP and his father.
Three FIRs have been registered so far in connection to the matter, including cases of rape and kidnapping. Prajwal allegedly flew abroad on April 27 after the video tapes went viral.
Meanwhile, former Karnataka minister HD Revanna has been sent to judicial custody till May 14.
