The father of the Saifiti twins has declared war on online trolls who have attacked his sons as the proud football city of Newcastle expresses its bitter disappointment with its struggling team.

The Knights have lost seven straight games and angry fans are hitting out at the players online, with big props Daniel and Jacob Saifiti copping special treatment.

Several fans have slammed the brothers on a Knights Facebook page – despite the fact Daniel played for New South Wales in State of Origin last year and is ranked among the leading props in the NRL.

“The twins are both hopelessly out of form,” one fan posted.

“I think it’s in the interest of the team that the twins both have a stint in NSW Cup to try and recapture some of their best form because they’re both well off the pace at the moment. Opposition props must lick their lips when they see they’re up against them.”

But Daniel Saifiti senior hit back.

“Jacob played big last night (against the Cowboys) and if you think his numbers, effort and play plus try was “behind the pace” then it highlights you’re (sic) knowledge base around this sport is extremely limited.

“I saw great signs for Daniel last night who has hopelessly but openly out of form.

“Daniel last year was in the top 3 props on the planet. Hence the Origin success and the Dally M prop of the year nomination.

“Funny how half ar$e fans have such short memories, but goes to show these these hoes ain’t loyal .”

Another Knights fan, quickly fired back.

“Daniel Saifiti l personally think you need take your rose coloured glasses off. They are both playing terribly and nowhere near the top level they should be. I love my Knights but hell, we are dreadful.”

The in-fighting shows the dis-satisfaction of the fans as the Knights quickly fade out of finals contention.

After winning their opening two games, they have struggled badly, conceding 50 points against the Storm at home and over 30 against the Cowboys, Eels, Panthers and Sea Eagles.

Wide World of Sports reached out to Daniel Saifiti senior for comment but he declined.
