The internet is coming for Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) over her recent overnight social media spree.
On Tuesday, the Republican posted a series of videos showing herself road-tripping to Washington, D.C., in none other than pink and white pajamas to cast her vote on President Donald Trump’s so-called Big Beautiful Bill.
Mace said her flights to and from the nation’s capital were canceled, so she made a show of hitting the road.
In one clip shared on X, she wears her pajamas to a Wawa convenience store as AC/DC’s 1979 tune “Highway to Hell” blasts in the background.
“If D.C. had a theme song …,” she captioned the post.
A separate post documents her ringing up three cans of Red Bull while holding her dog in her arms.
Another shows her posing for photos with Waffle House employees, still in her pajamas.
“From one Waffle House waitress to another, thank you for showing up, working hard, and keeping the coffee hot,” she captioned the post. “We haven’t forgotten where we came from. On to D.C. to vote for the Big, Beautiful Bill.”
Social media users weren’t universally charmed by Mace’s documentation of her road trip.
“Nancy Mace had her flight canceled to DC so she rented a luxury van with a driver, put on her jammies and then had a poor staffer film her all the way there for social media clout,” one person wrote. “All paid for with taxpayer money. Gross.”
Another questioned, “It’s only an 8 hour drive from Charleston to DC. Why is she making it seem like this is some massive trek?”
“What’s wrong with this woman? What’s with these videos where she’s on pajamas etc? Who’s doing her [social media]? This is unhinged and undignified for a congresswoman,” a separate user added.
Someone else said, “She’s doing way too much. Put on some presentable clothes and get to work.”
Mace’s reps didn’t immediately respond to HuffPost’s request for comment.
The South Carolina Republican appeared to mock the backlash after she reposted an X post from her communications director Sydney Long, who called out a reporter from The Daily Beast for misidentifying the pattern on Mace’s pajamas.
In another post on Wednesday morning, Mace appeared to brush off the online criticism, writing, “No sleep, no problem. Pink pajamas and all, we’re here to pass @POTUS’s Big, Beautiful Bill.”
