The Government Railway Police (GRP) quickly apprehended the man, helped him put on clothes, and escorted him out of the station.
A shocking incident unfolded on a Mumbai local train when a naked man entered the coach reserved for women. The man stood there holding the handrail for quite some time and refused to leave. He was later pushed out of the train by a Railways official. The incident took place at around 4 pm on Monday evening when the AC local was travelling from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) to Kalyan.
According to Railways authorities, the man, believed to be mentally unstable, boarded the women-only coach at Ghatkopar station at around 4:11 pm on December 16, as per a report by Times of India (TOI).
When the man refused to leave despite women asking him to do so, they called for help. That’s when the motorman stopped the train and a Railways official pushed him out.
A video of the incident has since gone viral on social media. It opens to show the man boarding the train at Ghatkopar station. As soon as the women see him, they immediately ask him to get off the train.
“Neeche utro [get down],” shout some women, while others knock on the train’s window to draw the attention of the ticket collector (TC). The video ends with the TC approaching the man and pushing him out of the train.
This particular part, where the TC pushes him out of the train, didn’t sit well with social media users, with one expressing, “Was he just pushed out like that? Was this really the solution? Wasn’t this risky for the man? The train could have been stopped, and he could have been handed over to the RPF. He must be mentally disturbed or facing some other issue….”
“I wonder where the Ticket checking staff and RPF personnel go during working hours after marking their attendance. Do they work seriously everyday or only after such incidents happen?” questioned yet another social media user.
