A TV talk show host hasn’t held back on how she feels about pop star and actress Jennifer Lopez, whom she has described as a “deeply unpleasant” person.
In her most recent Citizen McCain podcast episode, Meghan McCain, a former host of The View, revealed she was not a fan of JLo after having her as a guest on the popular US talk show.

McCain said she was adding her voice to a plethora of “negative stories” about the 54-year-old pop diva.
“I, too, share similar negative stories that the entire world does,” she said, as reported by Entertainment Weekly.
“I feel bad because we’re turning a point where there’s bullying happening to JLo.
“She is just a deeply unpleasant person.
“She had the biggest entourage I’ve ever seen — more than Kim Kardashian and the president.”
McCain, 39, said she could not understand why Lopez needed such a massive entourage.
She and podcast co-host Miranda Wilkins then talked about a TikTok video they had posted in which McCain said Lopez was not her “favourite” guest to have ever been on the show.
McCain claimed Lopez had “allegedly” taken measures to make sure the video was removed from the social media platform, although she could not substantiate her claim.
She noted that the video was later reinstated.
When contacted by Entertainment Weekly, a representative for McCain said: “We do not know how or why we received a violation notice (for the TikTok video). We pressed ‘appeal’ and the video was reinstated in a few hours.”
McCain also claimed that when Lopez appeared on The View, a staff member was ordered to hold a “mirror with lights while they were touching her up backstage”.
“She was not nice,” McCain said.
“You don’t always have to be so nice, but it was surprising that people like Kim Kardashian couldn’t be more delightful.
“When you’re coming on a show for a 10-minute segment … just fake it till you make it for 10 f****** minutes.”
Podcast guest, TV producer Carlos King, said he was shocked by McCain’s anecdotes.
King said he was a “huge” fan of JLo and had met her back in 2001, in the early days of her musical career.
“She was so nice, and she didn’t have a big entourage,” he said.
“Now look, I’m not a dummy.
“She has since became, like, this global superstar.”
Lopez has been in the headlines for several different reasons of late.
Her latest album, This Is Me … Now has not sold well, and Lopez recently announced she was cancelling the accompanying tour so she could take “time off to be with her children, family and close friends”.
Rumours have begun circulating that her marriage to Ben Affleck is already on the rocks, while her recent documentary, The Greatest Love Story Never Told, was ridiculed online.
Announcing the cancellation of her tour, Lopez said in a statement that she felt “heartsick”.
“I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down,” Lopez wrote in a note to fans on her official website.
“Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary.
“I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again.
I love you all so much. Until next time.”
The abrupt cancellation comes amid reported turmoil in the singer’s highly publicised relationship with husband Ben Affleck.
Lopez and Affleck married in 2022, and the pair were previously in a relationship from 2002 to 2004.
The singer recently shut down a question about her marriage to Affleck while promoting her movie Atlas.
Toward the end of a question-and-answer session, the singer was asked by someone in the crowd: “Your divorce with Ben Affleck is real? What is the truth?” according to a video shared on X by Glamour México y Latinoamérica.
Lopez gave the questioner a smile, then leaned in and said: “You know better than that.”
