Meghan opted for several Colombian designers and kept her sartorial choices in line with the country’s culture.
Now a fashion expert claimed that two of Meghan’s style choices may have had a deeper meaning to them – in particular her decision to wear one of the late Princess Diana’s pieces of jewellery and the plethora of Colombian designers she opted for.
Megan Watkins, Head Stylist at online fashion destination SilkFred, told Express.co.uk: “Apart from clearly wanting to show off her [Meghan’s] fashion and styling creds, we saw a few lovely touches that may have been trying to send a message.
“For example, a nod to the late Princess Diana. On day 2 whilst visiting Colegio La Giralda she was spotted wearing a pair of gold butterfly earrings that used to belong to Princess Diana.
“This may show that she and Harry are still paying homage to his late mother’s work and keeping her solidly in mind when they embark on these royal tours.
“Through her use of Colombian designers, we also saw her desire to respect the culture of the place she’s visiting.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had a full security detail during their visit to Colombia.
The couple quit their royal duties in 2020 and no longer travel at the request of the UK Government on official overseas royal visits.
