Host Samantha Armytage delivered the news to all five farmers and the ladies when they assembled at the Farmer Wants a Wife rodeo during Sunday night’s episode.
“I have had a very unusual request. In fact, this is something that has never, ever happened before on Farmer Wants a Wife,” she said.
“One of the ladies who wasn’t invited back to Bert’s farm has reached out to me and asked for a second chance at finding love.”
Farmer Bert stood in the crowd shocked, remarking, “Poor old Bert’s heart.”
But Sam quickly told him the lady was not back for him.
“She said she feels there might be some chemistry between her and another farmer,” Sam said.
She re-introduced 29-year-old Olivia, who arrived in a show-stopping red one-shoulder dress.
“I originally went on a speed date with Farmer Bert, so I’m back to shoot my shot,” Olivia, a tutor from Queensland, said in a confessional to producers.
“It’s quite empowering. I literally have nothing to lose.
“I feel like I can get what I want, but I don’t want to be overly confident, but I’m feeling pretty good.”
After Olivia made her way through the crowd, she approached Sam and stood beside her.
“Olivia, things didn’t work out for you and Bert,” Sam said to Olivia and the crowd.
“But you still believe you saw a connection with one of our other farmers when I first introduced you all.
“Would you like to tell us a bit more?”
“Yep,” Olivia said before pointing to the farmer she was after.
“So Joe — when he first walked in, he walked in with a cheeky grin and I thought, ‘Oh I’m in trouble’.”
A flashback was then played from Joe walking into the room on day one, being introduced to all the women contestants for the first time.
Olivia’s reaction was to stare at Farmer Joe before turning to the woman beside her and saying, “Cute, can we swap?”
On Sunday night, as Olivia continued her speech to Joe and the rest of the crowd, she said Joe “had a bit of confidence about him and he seemed like a cheeky guy”.
“So yeah I just came back to shoot my shot and see if there’s a connection.”
Sam then explained that Joe had until the end of the night to decide if he wished to take Olivia back to his farm in the Snowy Mountains of NSW.
“Great,” a stunned Joe said, as Bert laughed on.
Olivia then joined Joe and his other ladies, and introduced herself properly.
“I’m obviously very flattered that she wanted to come meet me, but at the same time all the ladies in our household are very tight-knit,” Joe said in a confessional.
“I think there’s going to be a little animosity with Olivia joining us.”
Olivia apologised to the other women and said she was “not here to step on toes” but “would kick myself if I left and didn’t try”.
Later in the night, Joe and Olivia had a proper conversation and she explained her reasoning.
“I obviously saw Bert and, on paper, that ticked all the boxes,” she told the farmer.
“And then when I left I was just like, ‘Agh I wish I went for Joe’.
“You walked in and had that cheeky grin and you looked a bit naughty.
“I came here for a reason.”
Joe asked her: “And what was that reason?”
“You,” she boldly stated, sparking a smirk from Joe.
The farmer later told producers he thought there was “a bit of chemistry with Olivia, she’s a good-looking girl and I’m attracted to someone who can put themselves out there like that”.
Farmer Wants A Wife continues Monday 7.30pm on Channel 7 and 7plus.
