Sony’s answer to Overwatch, Concord is a 5v5 hero shooter coming to PS5 and PC. While the upcoming game will launch in full this August, Sony is testing the waters by holding a couple of multiplayer betas on PlayStation and Steam. The first beta was available for pre-order customers last weekend, and appeared to be a big success. If, however, you were unable to take part, the good news is that Sony is holding a second Concord beta this weekend, and you don’t need to pre-order the game in order to take part. The Concord open beta has a July 18 release date and a 6pm BST UK start time. It will end at the same time on July 21. If you took part in last weekend’s beta then you can carry on where you left off. If you’re new to Concord, however, then pre-loading is available now. This means you can jump into the action the moment the servers go live.
The open beta will feature the same content as last weekend’s closed beta, as well as an additional map and game mode.
Fans can also try all of the 16 characters that will be available at launch, which means you can experiment and figure out your favourites.
The four returning maps include Freewater, Star Chamber, Water Hazard and Shock Risk, while the Bone Mines map will make its debut as part of the open beta.
The maps will support four different game modes, including Cargo Run, Clash Point and Trophy Hunt from before, as well as Area Control.

As an added incentive to try out the betas, Firewalk is giving players the chance to unlock a couple of rewards, which can be claimed at launch.
There’s the Lil’ Frog weapon charm, as well as the Stare Flare Icon and Business card. Players will receive the rewards simply for participating, and without having to reach a certain level.
If you’re playing on PC, the Concord developers recommend a minimum of an Intel Core i7-8700KAMD or Ryzen 7 2700X CPU, with 8GB DDR4, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 6GB or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT graphics card, and at least 30GB of SSD storage.
The full game will be available for PC and PS5 on August 23, or August 20 if you purchase the Deluxe Edition.
