Black Friday Pandemic board game deal
Looking for a new board game that is fun, informative and won’t break the bank? Z-Man Games’ Pandemic board game is now on sale for just $17.99 on Amazon.
Pandemic is a fun and fast-paced strategy board game where players work as a team to try and stop deadly diseases before they overwhelm Earth. Each player assumes a different role, each with different skills and abilities, including the scientist, medic, researcher, dispatcher and quarantine specialist. Together your team must co-operate and plan carefully to stem the tide of infection while working toward finding the cures for each disease.
The Pandemic gameplay is unique and extremely addictive. The gameboard features over 40 population centres across the globe and each turn players can use up to four cards to travel between cities, treat infected populaces, discover a cure, or build research stations. However, lurking in the deck are a number of Epidemic! cards that will accelerate and intensify the spread of diseases.
It is suitable for 2-4 players aged 8 and upwards and games take around 45 minutes to complete.
Pandemic was first released in 2008 and has remained an extremely popular board game that has inspired over a dozen sequel games, such a Pandemic:State of Emergency and Pandemic:On the Brink. The game has won over 40 individual awards and is rated 7.6/10 on boardgamegeek.com from over 100,000 reviews.
However, the game has never been more relevant than it is today. The emergence of the real-life COVID-19 pandemic makes this product a great way to teach your young ones about this sensitive topic in a safe and fun way. Ironically, being stuck at home also means most of us have a lot more time to play boardgames too.
Strategy games are also a great way to teach kids about teamwork, reasoning and planning. The Pandemic game can also help them learn about diseases, medicine, maths, and geography too.
The 45 minute game time is great for kids because it manages to capture their attention without dragging on for too long and also allows for multiple games in one sitting if you are really enjoying it. Working as a team rather than against one another also means you are likely to avoid any unwanted arguments.
However, you don’t need kids to enjoy this game either. The strategy element of the game can be challenging and enjoyable for players of any age and the fast-paced nature makes it a great game for an intimate dinner party.
