Selena Gomez’s $225,000 Engagement Ring From Benny Blanco Has Cute Nod

Selena Gomez got a ring that was more than good for her.

After all, her fiancé Benny Blanco seemingly paid homage to the Rare Beauty founder’s hit tune “Good for You” when it came to their proposal, which the Only Murders in the Building star announced on social media Dec. 11.

Indeed, the music producer opted for a stunning piece of jewelry featuring a marquise-shaped diamond stone set on a gold pavé band, which is appears to be “about six carats,” according to Ann Grimmett, the vice president of Merchandising at Jared Jewelers, meaning it is valued at “around $225,000.”

And dedicated fans of Selena’s music will instantly link the cut to her 2015 hit.

“I’m on my marquise diamonds,” Selena sings alongside A$AP Rocky in the track. “I’m a marquise diamond / Could even make that Tiffany jealous / You say I give it to you hard / So bad, so bad / Make you never wanna leave / I won’t, I won’t.”

Selena is in good company when it comes to sporting the rock. The lemon-shaped diamond cut was literally made for royalty. Its origins date back to the 18th century, when King Louis XV of France commissioned his jeweler to design a diamond inspired by his chief mistress, Marquise de Pompadour’s smile, according to Vogue.
