A tradie has told 7NEWS of the incredible moment he chased an alleged gunman on his normally quiet street in Sydney’s southwest.
One man remains on the run, while another is in police custody after the shooting near Sixteenth Ave, Austral about 11.05pm on Thursday.
Gunshots were heard on the suburban street, with police responding soon after to find a car crashed on nearby Craik Ave and two men on the run.

Local man Daniel Klinsic says he was woken to the sound of gunshots and bolted out of bed.
“My wife said ‘Get up, get up, something’s going on’, so I’ve bolted down the stairs,” he told 7NEWS.
“I saw the guy running … so I just gave chase.
“It was just natural instinct … to just get the p**** down on the floor.”
Klinsic, barefoot and in his pyjamas, said got with within about 50m from the person running away before he could not go any further.
A 30-year-old man was located on Fourth Ave and arrested.
He is assisting police with inquiries.
Police found “bullet casings and a fuel cannister inside the abandoned vehicle,” a spokesperson said.
Dog squad police then found an empty pistol magazine on Sixteenth Ave.
The vehicle had been reported stolen, police said.
There are no reports of injuries and no damage to property has been found, police said.
Inquiries are ongoing.
