PS Plus Extra and Premium July 2024 reveal date, time, predictions and leaks | Gaming | Entertainment

UPDATE: If the latest leaks are anything to go by, then July is looking like a banner month for PS Plus Extra subscribers. According to the leaks, PS Plus Extra subscribers will be able to download Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion, Remnant 2, No More Heroes 3, Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes Complete Edition, Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord, and Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous Enhanced Edition on July 16.

ORIGINAL: If you’re a PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium subscriber, then you’ll be waiting for Sony to announce the new games for July 2024. The next batch of PS Plus Extra and Premium games will be officially unveiled by Sony at 4.30pm BST UK time on July 10. The new games, which consist of various PS4, PS5 and retro games (and maybe even a PSVR 2 title or two), will be available to download and play on the morning of July 16. Sony will also remove a number of games from the PS Plus Extra Catalog, although you can read about that further down the page. Fans will be expecting around a dozen new games, and will be hoping that the line-up is better than last month’s, which was headlined by Monster Hunter Rise. Daily Express will keep this article updated with all the latest leaks, developments and official announcements, so keep checking back for more information.

In the meantime, PS Plus Extra subscribers have been attempting to predict which games will join the line-up on July 16.

The more optimistic fans think now is the time for Hogwarts Legacy and Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which would certainly be an improvement on recent entries.

While I have a hard time believing Hogwarts Legacy will join the line-up (based on the game’s strong sales), AC Mirage feels much more likely.

The open-world stealth game takes the series back to its roots, featuring a greater emphasis on parkour-based exploration and stealthy assassinations.

Ubisoft explains more: “Experience the story of Basim, a cunning street thief seeking answers and justice as he navigates the bustling streets of ninth-century Baghdad.

“Through a mysterious, ancient organisation known as the Hidden Ones, he will become a deadly Master Assassin and change his fate in ways he never could have imagined.”

Other subscribers are convinced Square Enix action game Forspoken will join the line-up, which makes sense considering its poor sales.

I personally wouldn’t be surprised if Suicide Squad makes the cut, especially with the new season launching later this week.

With player counts dwindling, a PS Plus release would certainly generate renewed interest in the disappointing superhero action game.

Needless to say, popular choices like Hades, Resident Evil Village, Sonic Frontiers and Dead Island 2 could also join the line-up.

That’s on top of potential first-party releases like the superb Gran Turismo 7, which is excellent in VR.

The next batch of games will join the service on the same day popular picks like Kingdom Two Crowns, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands and Saints Row 4 leave the line-up.

Other games leaving PS Plus Extra on July 16 include Dysmantle, My Little Pony A Maretime Bay Adventure and Fast and Furious Spy Racers Rise of Shifter.
