Specifically, Maruti is offering a Rs 1.4 lakh discount on the Grand Vitara. The maximum discounts, however, apply to strong hybrid models, while others are being offered benefits of about Rs 65,000.
The Maruti Grand Vitara, priced from Rs 10.99 lakh onwards, is available in petrol and CNG versions. It comes in Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Alpha, Zeta+, and Alpha+ variants, with different transmission options including manual and an e-CVT version.
Earlier reports mentioned Maruti offering a Rs 1.5 lakh discount on the Jimny, with other models like Swift, Brezza, Alto, Wagon R, Dzire, and Celerio receiving benefits of up to Rs 58,000. Maruti is also reportedly offering discounts of about Rs 72,000 on the Fronx.
Meanwhile, Tata is said to be offering discounts worth Rs 1 lakh on the Nexon, and there’s reportedly a Rs 55,000 offer on Honda’s Elevate SUV. Honda is said to be offering discounts on Amaze and City models as well including cash offer of up to Rs 30,000 along with exchange, corporate and loyalty bonus. Hyundai too is offering cash discounts of about Rs 30,000 on Venue along with exchange offer. There are reportedly offers on Alcazar (up to Rs 65,000) and i10 Nios (up to Rs 35,000).
Volkswagen said to be offering Rs 3.40 lakh on its Tiguan. The German car maker is also offering discounts in the range of Rs 20,000 to Rs 1.8 lakh on Virtus and Taigun models.According to analysts, car makers are offering these discounts to clear inventories amid muted demand.Passenger vehicle sales is projected to grow at a moderate 3-5 per cent this financial year on account of a high-base effect of FY24.
