Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh was spotted at the Royal Windsor Horse Show in Windsor with her husband, Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, in Berkshire today (May 4).
The couple stepped out in the bank holiday weekend sunshine with Sophie dressed in a smart-casual outfit including a biker jacket and a-line skirt.
Pictured smiling as she walked through the grounds of the equestrian event in Windsor, the 59-year-old royal donned a camel-brown suede jacket with pocket details and a waist-cinching tie belt.
Sophie’s Harrods jacket is a popular style as it is currently sold out on the upmarket retailer’s website.
The exact style is the Paige Suede Tawnie Biker Jacket, described as the perfect capsule wardrobe staple.
The fitted suede garment has many trendy details, including notched lapels and chest pockets. It also features two side pockets, button fastening and long sleeves.
Made from 100 percent leather with a 100 percent Rayon lining, the jacket is the ultimate spring staple thanks to its lightweight feel and versatile design.
For those looking to get their hands on a similar jacket, MaxMara is currently selling a single-breasted soft suede jacket with a lapel collar for £650. Alternatively, Superdry has a suede biker jacket that is currently 30 percent off at £160.99. Originally £229.99, the garment is both timeless and a steal.
Sophie completed her outfit with an ankle-grazing a-line skirt in royal blue and clutched a brown leather bag to match her suede jacket.
The bag appears almost identical to this Isabel Marant design, known as the Oskan Moon mini leather cross-body bag, available at Selfridges for £655.
Sophie’s bag is another timeless piece but priced at £655, it’s a little pricey. Alternatively, Fossil’s Harwell Hobo Leather Bag is similar and priced at just £230.30, while Debenhams’ Ashwood Leather Saddle Shoulder Bag is currently half-price at £54.99.
For a touch of colour, Sophie also donned a silk-patterned scarf in tones of blue and yellow – an equestrian-style accessory loved by the late Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Anne.
Keeping it simple with ankle boots, the mother-of-two opted for a low heel in what appears to be a black leather boot.
For her hair, Sophie chose a down-do with a chic blow-dried effect to keep the strands out of her face.
With a little texture throughout, her blonde locks looked effortless paired with the biker jacket and skirt outfit.
According to style blogger Shay Moné, biker jackets are a major fashion trend this year but make for an equally great investment piece.
They add versatility, timeless appeal, and durability which makes the biker jacket an all-time favourite. On the Harrods website, Sophie’s jacket is styled with a midi dress and knee-high boots, but it can be worn in so many other ways.
While the Duchess of Edinburgh opted for ankle boots and a longer skirt, wide-leg trousers or a longer dress would work well underneath.
Fellow royal Zara Tindall was recently spotted in a similar style jacket; a longer suede trench coat. Like Sophie, she is also a fan of ankle boots and casual-but-cool equestrian-style fashion.
